Man United star keen to join Chelsea

Manchester United face Everton in the Premier League Summer Series in Atlanta on Sunday evening.

Ruben Amorim has overseen victories against both West Ham United and Bournemouth during the pre-season series in the United States, and the Portuguese will want to see his side emerge victorious once again on Sunday.

The Red Devils endured a torrid campaign last season and finished 15th in the Premier League table, meaning they won’t compete in Europe this time around.

United begin their Premier League campaign against Arsenal on the opening weekend of the new campaign.

In the meantime, it appears that one member of Amorim’s squad is keen to join one of their fiercest rivals.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man United winger Alejandro Garnacho is prioritising a move to Chelsea this summer.

The Argentine winger is expected to leave Old Trafford before the end of the current transfer window, and Romano claims that talks between the player’s representatives and the Blues have already taken place.

While discussions are already underway on the player’s side, he also claims that Chelsea are currently focussed on finalising a move for Dutchman Xavi Simons.

Garnacho, 21, joined United from Spanish side Atletico Madrid in 2020 and has since scored 26 goals in 144 games for the club across all competitions, as well as providing 22 assists.

He is under contract in Manchester until the end of the 2027/28 season, but Romano suggests that he will depart Old Trafford during the current transfer window.

While Chelsea have been in talks with the player’s agents, Romano claims that no talks have so far taken place between the Blues and Manchester United.
