Wolves place staggering price tag on Jose Sa as transfer stance emerges amid exit links -…

Wolves have responded to any clubs thinking of making a move for goalkeeper Jose Sa this summer.

Change is expected between the sticks, but not as far as Vitor Pereira’s number one is concerned.

Sam Johnstone will move on, with interest pouring in for the 2024 signing, who has had a horrible time at Molineux.

Signing Johnstone was a poor move by Wolves, but fortunately, the Old Gold didn’t sanction Sa’s exit at the time amid links to Saudi Arabia.

Sa stayed, and despite a turbulent start to the 2024/25 season, the Portugal international ensured Pereira saw him as first choice, a view that isn’t expected to change.

Wolves set Jose Sa asking price

Galatasaray have shown an interest in Sa, but there is one pressing reason why a deal is unlikely to be completed.

Journalist Alan Nixon reported that at this moment, Sa ‘will be staying’ at Wolves, who have put a price tag of £20m on the goalkeeper.

The Turkish champions ‘will not’ pay Wolves’ asking price for the 32-year-old, whose current deal expires in 2027, with the option of a further year.

Pereira was said to be looking for a new goalkeeper this summer, but with the latest update on Sa, it could be said that the West Midlands club have abandoned their search for a new shot-stopper.

It’s good news for the Portuguese ‘keeper, whose career in the Premier League almost ended last summer shortly after Johnstone’s arrival.

The stark difference between Sa’s market value and his price tag

There’s no doubt that Wolves have made the right decision to keep Sa and offload Johnstone, whose transfer to Molineux was rather pointless.

That being said, the Old Gold have made a statement with their asking price for Sa, whose actual market value is staggeringly lower than how the club view him.

Based on Transfermarkt’s data, taking Sa’s age, form and current contract into consideration, Pereira’s number one has a current value of just £6m.

There’s a £14m difference between Wolves’ valuation and his actual market value, which signals a stark hands-off approach from the Old Gold this summer.
