Contract offer revealed as Leeds United step up move for top transfer target

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has conceded that he still doesn’t have a squad for the Premier League, and wants more additions to his attacking third before the transfer window closes in just four weeks.

The Whites have signed seven new players since winning the Championship last season and earning promotion to the Premier League. However, only one of them is an attacker in Lukas Nmecha, and even the former Wolfsburg striker joined the club on a free transfer early in the transfer window.

The Leeds boss made it clear that he needs more forwards to feel confident about keeping the team in the Premier League next season, and the club are working on deals to bolster their attack before the end of the transfer window on September 1st.

Leeds have identified Leicester City ace Bilal El Khannouss as one of their top targets, and held talks with his representatives last week, when they made it clear that they are ready to trigger the £24.5m release clause in his contract this summer.

Leeds United also made a contract offer to Bilal El Khannouss

The Moroccan attacking midfielder was one of the very few bright lights in the Leicester team last season, which got relegated from the Premier League.

A few other Premier League and European sides have their eyes on him, and he has also attracted interest from Saudi Arabia.

Leeds have made an early move to try and get a deal over the line and have made a concrete offer to the player and his representatives.

According to Africa Foot, Leeds have made a lucrative offer to El Khannouss to move to Elland Road in the ongoing summer transfer window.

It has been claimed Leeds have offered him a deal worth just over £2.6m per year to move to Yorkshire this summer, while agreeing to pay the release clause and all the associated costs to Leicester for the transfer.

The Whites are confident that they have offered him a solid contract to move to Elland Road and continue playing in the Premier League next season.

El Khannouss would be a top signing

Leeds are interested in El Khannous and are pushing hard to secure a deal to take him to Elland Road in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The release clause makes it an easier deal to do if the midfielder gives his green light to join Leeds in the coming days, but the clause is only applicable until August 15th.

If Leeds manage to convince the player, he would be a top addition to the squad. He is a versatile attacking midfielder who has Premier League experience and can play on the left as well.

The Whites are hopeful that they have done enough to sell the project and convince the player to move to Elland Road this summer.
