Ruben Amorim has insisted he harbours no resentment over Alejandro Garnacho's wish to depart Manchester United for a fresh challenge. The winger fell out with his manager after being axed from the Europa League final starting line-up, which United lost 1-0 to Tottenham.
Following the crushing defeat, Garnacho openly questioned Amorim's judgement and hinted he would weigh up his options during the summer break.
Amorim hit back by informing the £40million-rated star that he had no role in his future vision and excluded him from United's US tour, alongside several other players seeking an exit.
However, Amorim believes the optimal outcome would be for United and Garnacho to go their separate ways, given the 20-year-old's obvious desire to ply his trade elsewhere.
"I think with Garnacho, you can understand and you can see that he's talented, he's a really talented boy," said Amorim. "But sometimes things don't work out and you cannot explain specifically what it is.
"But I have the feeling – and I think it's clear - that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership and I can understand that.
"So I don't think it's a problem. Sometimes you adapt to one guy and you have the connection. Other times you want a new challenge.
"So we try to make everything okay for all parties. To the club, to the coach and to the player. It's a natural thing in football."
Garnacho is keen on a switch to Chelsea, who have made enquiries about his availability, whilst Aston Villa and Serie A outfit Napoli have also registered their interest.
