Report: Everton make contact to sign 'incredible' forward after Europa League scouting mission

Everton have already added one striker to their ranks this summer in what promises to be a busy rebuild on Merseyside in the coming weeks - and another could follow suit in the form of Franculino Dju, with the Midtjylland striker's incredible form tempting the Toffees to make a move, according to reports.

Everton have signed four new players this summer, although they have got rid of seven, in what was already a depleted Premier League squad - and so new men will have to be brought in for squad depth. That could see them move for Dju, who has been labelled as 'incredible' as a result of his strong form.

The report by Africa Foot states that despite Dju being on Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen's shortlist, he's now being targeted by Everton as David Moyes looks to bring him to the Premier League.

It's thought that Everton have made contact with the Midtjylland striker's representatives, having sent scouts to Edinburgh to watch the 21-year-old in their game against Hibs in the Europa League as the Danish side went through with a last-minute extra-time winner in the Scottish capital.

Dju is seen as a profile that has 'secuded' English scouts, and now the Toffees have begun talks with his cortège with a view to a potential transfer before the transfer window slams shut in a month's time.

Dju, who was born in Guinea-Bissau, could join up with national team star Beto at the Hill Dickinson Stadium if he makes the move to Merseyside. Joining Benfica's academy at the age of 15, he joined Midtjylland in 2023, scoring 11 goals in his first two full campaigns for the Superliga outfit.

However, this season he's come flying out of the traps, and with five goals in his first two games, including a hat-trick against Sonderjyske, he's shown that he could be ready to depart Scandinavia for England to show his talents in the most competitive league in the world.

The Toffees have waved goodbye to Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer this summer, leaving Thierno Barry and Beto as their only senior options, and Dju could look to compliment his compatriot in the coming weeks.
