Diogo Jota‘s boyhood club Gondomor have announced a touching tribute to the late Liverpool forward and his brother, with their faces on this season’s shirts.
Jota and brother Andre Silva tragically died in a car accident on July 3, with many tributes sent their way in the month since the incident occurred.
Now Gondomar, who both brothers played for at youth level, have revealed they will dedicate their 2025/26 kit in their honour.
Their shirts will have their faces on the front, while on the back, their names are displayed underneath an infinity symbol.

Confirming the announcement, Gondomar posted a message on Instagram, calling it an “eternal gesture” to Jota and Andre:
“More than a jersey, an eternal tribute.
“This season, Gondomar Sport Club enters the field with a heart full of memories and feelings.
“Our new jersey incorporates the image of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, two sons of Gondomar who left us too soon, but who will live forever in the history of our club and our football.
“Every time our athletes put on this jersey, it’s like stepping on the field with them.
“Because football is more than victories and goals, it’s legacy, it’s family, it’s love for our land.”
This is just the latest of many tributes in memory of Jota, with Liverpool’s players wearing his name on the front of their shirts against AC Milan and Yokohama FM, and they will do so all season.
A mural has already been completed by Liverpool artist Paul Curtis outside Anfield – one of several in the area – while former Reds midfielder James Milner has changed his squad number at Brighton to No. 20 ahead of next season.
Wolves will remember him on the opening day of the season at home to Man City, having inducted him into their hall of fame, while Porto’s friendly with Atletico Madrid on Sunday evening will be in Jota’s honour, with the attacker playing for both clubs.

It has been one of the toughest months in Liverpool’s history, with Arne Slot and his players having to process the passing of Jota.
Seeing him and his brother receive so many tributes has been heartwarming, though.
