Everton will look very different next season.
The main change has been geographical, as Everton move from Goodison Park to Bramley-Moore Dock.
However, David Moyes is also trying to transform the Toffees on the pitch, allowing a lot of experience to depart in Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ashley Young and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, while bringing in young talent such as Thierno Barry and Adam Aznou.
Tyler Dibling is also wanted at Everton, and if a move materialises, the Toffees could have the new Paul Gascoigne on their hands based on what Theo Walcott thinks.
What Theo Walcott said about Tyler Dibling
Everton recently saw a £27m bid rejected by Southampton for the England U21 international.
The Saints are – however – anticipating a second offer from the Toffees, according to the BBC, meaning the new Gascoigne could soon be heading to Merseyside.
Walcott lauded Dibling, telling the Premier League: “Do you know what? He’s the closest to a Gascoigne type or a (Jack) Grealish type.
“He doesn’t just like to go forward, he likes to track back, the things I would despise to be honest.”
Walcott – who made 85 appearances for Everton – articulates himself well in the media and rarely contributes to sensationalism, so the fact he felt it was fair to liken Dibling to Gascoigne speaks volumes.
Theo Walcott has also compared Tyler Dibling to Gareth Bale as Everton circle
Moyes could get himself a potential superstar in the Southampton No.33 if a deal materialises.
Not only was a comparison to Gascoigne – of all players – made, but Walcott also likened Dibling to Gareth Bale when speaking to talkSPORT.
The 36-year-old said: “He is an athlete. You can see the size of him already as well. It’s very much like the Gareth Bale sort of physique, and the way he has got a bit of swag about him on the field like a Grealish type.”
Everton are also trying to sign Grealish on loan from Manchester City, so it is interesting to see Walcott make two comparisons to the England international as well.
Moyes could soon have Dibling on the left flank and Grealish on the other, which would make for a fascinating attack – especially with Barry and Iliman Ndiaye already at Everton.
