Leicester City defender James Justin was not named in the Foxes' squad for their final pre-season friendly against Fiorentina today, amid a reported interest from Leeds United.
Leeds United News reported earlier this week that Daniel Farke's side holds a 'serious interest' in the 27-year-old. Justin’s last appearance in a Leicester shirt came last Friday in a pre-season fixture, where he played the full 90 minutes.
He had also featured in the two previous friendlies, playing a half in each. However, for today's match against Fiorentina, Justin was not listed oint he squad for their clash with the Serie A outfit.
The full-back’s contract expires next summer, so if Leicester are to receive a fee for him, they’ll either need to sell him this window or agree on a new contract
According to The Times, Leeds could sign the experienced defender for just £6m. But if they make a move, they may face competition from Premier League side Everton.
Justin started 34 Premier League games last season in what was a disappointing campaign for the East Midlands club. He registered two goals and two assists in the league and added two more goals in the FA Cup.
Justin’s absence from Leicester’s line-up isn’t the only news of interest to Leeds. Midfielder Bilal El Khannouss, who has also been linked with a move to Elland Road, was named in the starting XI.

The Whites have enquired about the 21-year-old and are reportedly willing to meet his £24.5m release clause. However, LeicestershireLive claims the Foxes will only consider offers north of £30m.
The Moroccan international recorded eight goal contributions last season. His pace and powerful runs from midfield made him a standout performer in a struggling Leicester side.
Leeds have the chance to sign both players this summer, but if today’s line-up is anything to go by, Justin’s exit could be the more immediate of the two.
