Here’s how the Royals rated after losing 2-0 to the Imps.
**Joel Pereira** - Nothing he could have done about Lincoln’s opener, but kept Reading in the game just after the break with an incredible save to deny Jack Moylan from close range. **7**
**Kelvin Abrefa** - Strong in the tackle and adventurous down the right when he could be, but his delivery into the box was lacking. **6**
**Michael Stickland** - Made a vital challenge on 30 minutes when he dispossessed Rob Street in the penalty box. Beaten by the long ball on a couple of occasions. **5**
**Finley Burns** - Likes to have the ball at his feet, but still gave possession away at times. Unlucky to have scored an own goal on his league debut, but recovered well with some strong challenges. **4**
**Jeriel Dorsett** - Nowhere to be seen for the Lincoln opener after slipping on the halfway line and struggled all afternoon against a pacy Ryan Street on the right wing. Replaced for Matty Jacob on 78 minutes. **3**
**Lewis Wing** - Almost levelled the game on 35 minutes with a beautiful strike from outside the box, and again on 50 minutes with a second long-range strike that also struck the upright. **6**
**Charlie Savage** - A poor first half where his end product went missing, as his lofted balls into the box found no one. Despite this, he worked hard and performed his defensive duties well. **4**
**Ben Elliott** - Tried to get Reading moving, but was too often stopped in his tracks by a physical Lincoln side and an uninspired Reading front line. Worked hard but taken off for Liam Fraser after 60 minutes. **5**
**Mamadi Camara** - Like last season, he is still lacking end product and still too easily gives the ball away. He should have kept himself onside for the disallowed goal. A poor second half saw him taken off after 60 minutes. **3**
**Mark O’Mahony** - Unlucky not to get a first-half penalty when he was shoved over in the box, but otherwise struggled to hold the ball up. Swapped for Paddy Lane on 70 minutes. **3**
**Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan -** Largely anonymous on the left-hand side, other than a couple of decent crosses from the left. Created a chance by himself just after half-time which only slightly troubled the Lincoln ‘keeper. **4**
**Substitutes:**
**Liam Fraser, Daniel Kyerewaa, Paddy Lane, Matty Jacob -** None had an impact on proceedings. **N/A**
