Report: Aston Villa make 'magical' £35m star their 'top transfer target,' ready to enter talks

Aston Villa are “ready to enter into talks” with Galatasaray about a potential deal for Gabriel Sara, according to CaughtOffside.

Villa enjoyed a strong 2024/25 season, reaching the quarter-finals of their first-ever Champions League, four decades after their latest participation in the European Cup. The Villans also reached the FA Cup semi-finals as, with a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League, they qualified for continental football for the third-straight year.

Unai Emery’s side have, at the time of writing, made just two senior signings. Teenage centre-back Yasin Ozcan has joined from Kasimpasa whilst Marco Bizot has signed as Villa’s new second-choice goalkeeper. Villa, however, are eyeing further incomings ahead of the season’s beginning.

Now, the Midlands side have been linked with a move to bring this talented midfielder back to English football.

Multiple clubs appreciate the Brazilian

Gabriel Sara

According to CaughtOffside, Villa are keen on Gabriel Sara and their interest is “currently the most advanced” compared to the other Premier League sides that are keen on the Brazilian. Sara, who spent two seasons with Norwich City in the Championship, joined Galatasaray last year and played a crucial role as the club won yet another Super Lig title.

Sara would reportedly cost around £35 million, a price tag that has done little to sway Villa, who have made the midfielder their “top transfer target.” The Villans are well-stocked in midfield, but Jacob Ramsey’s future at the club is unknown and should he depart, Villa would need to replace him.

Described as a “magical” player, Sara could prove to be a phenomenal addition to Villa’s midfield if the club decide to sign the 26-year-old.
