Coady picks two former Wolves stars in his five-a-side team, one has 'gone under the radar over …

Conor Coady has included two old Wolves teammates when asked for his ultimate five-a-side team.

Conor Coady has made the news in recent days for completing an eyebrow-raising move to Wrexham.

Coady was first linked with Wrexham earlier this week, and the club have managed to wrap up a deal pretty quickly.

The Championship new boys have landed the former Wolves captain for around £2 million, and hope he can help them to enjoy a successful season.

Coady has Championship experience having previously spent three seasons in the second tier with Wolves. He has also played in the competition for Leicester City and Huddersfield Town.

He helped Leicester get back into the top-flight, and now Wrexham will hope his outstanding leadership qualities will serve them well.

Coady has signed for Wrexham, and has also responded when asked for his ultimate five-a-side team – and it is sure to go down well with Wolves fans.

Coady was asked by the Wrexham media team for his best five-a-side team, and he could either choose players he’s played with or against.

Coady, having shared the dressing room with some fantastic players, chose five he’s played with.

Starting with his goalkeeper, Coady selected Jordan Pickford, with whom he has played with at Everton and in the England national team.

He also picked John Stones.

Coady then gave the first of two former Wolves players.

He said: “Midfield is Ruben Neves. I played with him at Wolves. Incredible footballer, one of my best friends. I speak to him all the time. So I’ll say Ruben.”

Coady then had two players up top, with Harry Kane being one choice.

His partner? Raul Jimenez, who Coady reckons has actually gone under the radar over the years.

“I’m going to go Raul Jimenez. Amazing, amazing footballer, I think he’s gone under the radar over the years. And still now doing it with Fulham. I think he’s doing outstanding.”

Wolves had it so good with Neves and Jimenez

Wolves fans will fully back Coady picking Neves and Jimenez in his ultimate five-a-side team, because they were an incredible duo.

Both are arguably two of the greatest players in their position in Wolves’ history, having been at the very forefront of the club’s amazing showing in the two years after promotion back to the Premier League.

Neves was a genius in midfield, capable of dictating games with ease and wowing fans with his remarkable passing range.

While Jimenez struck fear into defenders up top, and at one stage was one of the most complete number nines in the Premier League.

The Mexican has also done extremely well to come back from that horrendous head injury he suffered in November 2021. With Fulham, Jimenez has impressed, and is already in their top 10 Premier League scorers.

Wolves fans really were treated by those two when they were at Molineux, and for Coady it must have been a genuine joy to share the field with them.
