Iraola indicates some of his squad ‘are not at the level required’ in pre season

For Bournemouth, the final fixture of their Summer Series takes place against West Ham United.

Andoni Iraola put the pressure on his group, admitting that some men "are not at the level required."

‘Everyone has to play their part’

The tour of the USA began on the right note with a 3-0 win over Everton.

Then came a 4-1 loss to Man United, where their only goal was courtesy of Mathijs de Ligt turning the ball into his own net.

Iraola felt the second showing was not as bad as the score suggested, but he does not want a repeat.

"It’s getting closer. I hope we finish the two weeks in America with better feelings than the other day."

He hopes to build on the foundations of the two years he has spent on the coast with the Cherries.

They picked up the eighth most points of any outfit in the top tier across the final six months of the 2023/24 season before challenging for a spot in the European competitions last campaign until May.

Iraola was a former player of Marcelo Bielsa when the Argentine was at Athletic Club.

The Basque coach has not forgotten that time in his playing career, building the style of this side on intensity and unity.

"We are a strong team as a collective, when everyone is at their best and we can compete collectively, everyone looks better in our team. Our approach is quite aggressive. Everyone has to play their part.”

For the moment, Iraola thinks that some of his squad are out of sync.

But the former Bilbao man cannot afford for that to be the case much longer: a trip to **Anfield**against the reigning champions starts the Premier League season.

“When three, four, five players are not at their best, we struggle, everyone looks worse. We have some players who are in a great place at this moment in pre-season, others are not at the level required."
