Morgan Rogers’ future has been one of the major talking points at Aston Villa this summer.
The 22-year-old has developed into a star over the last year at Villa Park, but he has consistently been linked with a move to one of the Premier League’s ‘big six’ since the conclusion of last season.
Villa have been fending off interest in Rogers from Chelsea recently, with the Blues trying to use the B6 outfit’s interest in Nicolas Jackson to leverage a swap deal.
The forward is a vital part of Unai Emery’s side, and with them having limited capacity to spend this summer, keeping hold of him has never been more important.

Rogers to get £150,000 per week as Aston Villa ready new deal
Aston Villa may be about to take a major step towards securing Rogers’ future, despite the plethora of interest that they have received from elsewhere in recent months.

The hierarchy at Villa Park are preparing to move to offer the star a new deal, and it is expected that he will put pen to paper and extend his stay.
Rogers became one of the Premier League’s brightest young talents last season, and he was already earning around £75,000 per week at Villa, according to estimates from Capology (3 August).
Player Weekly Wage
Youri Tielemans £150,000
Emi Martinez £150,000
Ollie Watkins £130,000
John McGinn £120,000
Morgan Rogers £75,000
Selected weekly earnings from the Villa squad, as per Capology estimates.
However, ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes that the England international could now be in line to have his wages doubled, as a new proposal is readied.
“I would say that Villa will double that current wage if they want Rogers to stay,” King said.
“There’s been a lot of interest in him and he’s progressed marvellously in the last year.
“If you’re going to hand a player a wage of £150,000 per week, you’re going to be asking £75m or £80m for them, at least, and that should keep clubs away.
“I think he’s comfortable at Aston Villa, and he’s produced good football there.
“He’s been made into a better player at Villa, so if they’re going to double his money, it’s time for him to pay them back with another good season, and maybe another one after that.”

Keeping Rogers would be better for Villa than any new arrival
Rogers’ importance to Aston Villa simply cannot be understated, and it would be an excellent piece of business if they are able to tie him down.
Rogers notched a career-high 14 goals and 13 assists in all competitions last term
It was his first full season as a Premier League player
His 18 Premier League goal contributions in 2024/25 stood him among the top five most productive English players
He has a huge future ahead of him and is already developing into a player who can be relied upon to change games at the top level.
The Villans have had a difficult summer in the transfer market, but the possibility of keeping a player of Rogers’ quality has to take precedence above any potential incomings.
Emery would have liked to add a few new faces to strengthen his hand, but keeping their star man could be equally as valuable.
