Alisson Becker's wife has issued an update after the Liverpool FC goalkeeper left the pre-season tour early. The Brazilian number one played no part in the Reds 3 - 1 win over Yokohama FM on July 30.

Arne Slot explained the goalkeeper had to leave the Reds tour of the Far East due to "private reasons". Alisson's wife, Natalia, has shared further details as she revealed she has recently underwent an operation. The mum-of-three shared a picture alongside her husband on Instagram.

A translation of Natalia's caption said: "Post op pic Portrait of a real life. Now I'm recovering at home. Thank God, to the wonderful team that served me and all the love I received, everything is evolving well. Thanks to all who sent messages."

Alisson's brother, Muriel, was one of many who took to the comments after Natalia revealed she was recovering. He shared a series of heart and prayer emojis in response.

The girlfriend of former LFC player, Arthur Melo, took to the comments to also share a message of support. A translation of Carol Miarelli's post said: "Always with you."

A follower named Robbie added: "Speedy recovery Natalia." Jay commented: "Wishing you a speedy recovery, God bless." Rachel said: "Hope you're ok, speedy recovery x"

Natalia has been married to Alisson since 2015. The happy couple share three children named Helena, Matteo and Rafael. Natalia regularly shares updates from their happy family life with her 366,000 Instagram followers.

Speaking about why Alisson had to leave the tour of Asia early, Arne Slot told club media: "He had to go back to Brazil for private reasons.

"That's far from ideal – first of all for the private reasons, second of all for him to not be there in a game like this and in pre-season it's also not ideal if you miss out on part of the pre-season.

"But again, private life is more important in these matters than joining a game today." The Reds pre-season will continue tomorrow with two matches at Anfield against Club Athletic.

Liverpool will then head to Wembley for the next game as the team contest the Community Shield against FA Cup holders Crystal Palace.

The Premier League title defence gets underway the following Friday (August 15) with an 8pm kick off against Bournemouth at Anfield.
