An Everton target is now more likely to complete a transfer to Nottingham Forest this summer transfer window.
It’s been a really difficult window so far for David Moyes, and he’s a little frustrated by the lack of arrivals so far.
However, Everton are expected to complete a major signing within the next week, with CEO Angus Kinnear jetting back to the UK.
The Toffees are exploring a deal to sign Tyler Dibling from Southampton, and Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is also on Moyes’ radar.
Now, there has been a fresh development on another rumoured Everton target, but, it’s not good news.

Douglas Luiz more likely to join Nottingham Forest than Everton
Everton have been eyeing Douglas Luiz all summer and it was reported that the Juventus midfielder was keen on joining.
However, according to a fresh report from GiveMeSport, Nottingham Forest have now moved ahead in the race to land the ‘world class’ (per the Athletic) player’s signature.
Forest held talks with Juve and Luiz on Friday, and there is a belief that the player is being ‘pushed’ towards the East Midlanders.

It’s also reported that Everton can’t afford to meet his £34.9m price tag, although, perhaps that’s because the substantial transfer fees will be reserved for attacking reinforcements.
The Toffees do have cheaper alternatives.
Everton could turn to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Everton have two past and present Leicester City midfielders on their shortlist, with now Chelsea star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall being eyed by Moyes.
Chelsea are willing to sanction Dewsbury-Hall’s departure, however, they want offer in the region of £30m.
Meanwhile, the Toffees are looking at Wilfred Ndidi, and he is available at a cut-price deal worth just £9m due to a relegation release clause.
Josh Brownhill is being linked to Everton, too, with the former Burnley talisman now officially a free agent, so that could be an option.
