Manchester United are showing interest in a summer move for Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor, according to CaughtOffside.
The Red Devils are reportedly ‘very much in the race’ for the Brazilian shot-stopper and are prepared to match Victor’s release clause should they decide to formalise their interest.
Victor has no shortage of suitors in the Premier League at the moment, with West Ham taking the first step by submitting an official €8m bid.
United are believed to be monitoring Victor’s developing situation closely, with internal talks ongoing, as they remain keen on bringing in an experienced yet affordable goalkeeper before the transfer deadline on September 1.

According to CaughtOffside, Victor has emerged as a serious target for Man United’s recruitment team following his impressive displays for Botafogo at the Club World Cup.
The 'phenomenal' goalkeeper helped the Brazilian side reach the Round of 16 and secure a memorable 1-0 win over Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain with a stunning performance between the posts.
Along with Man United and West Ham, a host of European sides are also rumoured to be interested in Victor, including Turkish giants Galatasaray, who are viewing him as a long-term replacement for veteran Fernando Muslera.
Man United remain focused on bolstering Ruben Amorim’s attacking options ahead of the transfer deadline, with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko top of their shortlist.
The Red Devils are still awaiting Sesko’s decision over his preferred destination this summer, with Newcastle also firmly in the race for the 22-year-old Slovenian.
