Report: Everton now eyeing move to sign 'magical' South American star, club open to sale at £35m

Everton are among a host of Premier League clubs eyeing a summer move for Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara, according to CaughtOffside.

The Toffees, along with Aston Villa, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Wolves, are believed to be tracking the 26-year-old former Norwich midfielder, who played a key role in Galatasaray’s title-winning campaign last term.

While the Turkish club would prefer not to sell the Brazilian, they are prepared to let Sara depart for the right price, with their valuation standing at around £35m.

Sara, who joined Galatasaray from Norwich last summer, is under contract for another four seasons, until June 2029.

Sara has been heavily linked with a move to Aston Villa in recent weeks, with reports in Turkey suggesting Unai Emery’s side have already come forward with an offer for the 26-year-old midfielder.

Sara enjoyed a memorable campaign at Galatasaray last term, helping the Turkish giants secure a league and cup double, their first since the 2018/19 season.

The ‘magical’ Brazilian made 45 appearances across all competitions, including nine in the Europa League, scoring two goals and providing 10 assists.

Sara spent two seasons with Norwich in the Championship and was named the club’s Player of the Season in his debut campaign (2022/23).

Everton are anticipating a busy end to the summer transfer window as they hold interest in Juventus outcast Douglas Luiz and are believed to be working on a deal for Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling.

According to reports, the English wide-forward is open to a switch to Merseyside in the coming weeks, and Southampton are not expected to stand in his way if their £40m valuation is met.
