Chelsea are likely to table a loan offer for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to The Telegraph ‘s Matt Law.
The reliable journalist told the London Is Blue Podcast that Enzo Maresca’s side could try to sign the Argentinian international on a temporary basis, at least initially:
“Any Garnacho deal could either be a loan with an obligation or a loan with an option, or it will be something around £30m with many bonuses and clauses. I do think he probably is a £50-60m player.”
Whether such a proposal would be acceptable to United, it remains to be seen, but Garnacho is said to have made Stamford Bridge his priority destination, which should aid the Blues in negotiations.
There’s potential for a Sancho-like deal
It should be noted that Chelsea waited until the end of the transfer window to sign Jadon Sancho from the Red Devils last year. It was (technically) a loan with an obligation to buy the winger for £25m.

Whether they can repeat the trick with Garnacho, it is not known. If it is a loan with a mandatory purchase, you can’t see United agreeing to a similar break clause that would allow Chelsea to return the player to Old Trafford next summer.
Why do Chelsea want to sign Garnacho?
It is pretty simple: Maresca needs more cover on the left wing. Mykhailo Mudryk is suspended, while the likes of Pedro Neto and Estevao prefer to play on the right flank.
Summer signing Joao Pedro can be deployed out wide if needed, but it isn’t his best position, and that leaves Jamie Gittens as the only senior option who prefers the left-hand side. Garnacho’s arrival would provide him with more competition, especially if youngster Tyrique George is allowed to leave over the coming weeks.
