Two Key Contract Renewals for Liverpool

Liverpool Women continue to shape their squad for the 2025/26 season with the announcement of new contracts for two of their key players, Fuka Nagano and Mia Enderby. The duo’s renewals are a significant boost for the club

These announcements follow earlier summer extensions for goalkeepers Rachel Laws and Faye Kirby. In addition to retaining core players, Liverpool have also welcomed four new signings: Kirsty Maclean, Rafaela Borggrafe, Sam Kerr, and Lily Woodham, signaling a busy and strategic transfer window at the club.

Fuka Nagano

The Japanese international midfielder attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe and beyond, but Liverpool succeeded in securing her services for the foreseeable future. Nagano joined the Reds in 2023 from the North Carolina Courage in the NWSL, and has since become a mainstay in midfield.

She began her professional career with Urawa Reds in Japan before stints at Hyundai Steel Red Angels (South Korea), Chifure AS Elfen Saitama, and Mynavi Sendai. Since her arrival at Liverpool, she has made 64 appearances across two and a half seasons, contributing one goal and a consistent presence in the heart of the pitch.

The identity of Nagano’s manager for the upcoming season remains uncertain. After Matt Beard’s departure earlier this summer, Amber Whiteley stepped in as interim head coach. Reports have since linked Manchester City boss Gareth Taylor to the vacant Liverpool job, though nothing has been confirmed.

Mia Enederby

Mia Enderby, a 20-year-old forward, has also committed her future to Liverpool. Since joining the club from Sheffield United in the summer of 2023, she has made 42 appearances and scored six goals. A promising England U23 international, Enderby is seen as a vital part of Liverpool’s attacking plans moving forward.

Speaking about her renewal, Enderby said:”I’ve been here for a couple of years now and I just can’t wait to get started [in 2025-26]. Pre-season is going well and we just can’t wait to get going.

“Off the pitch we’re a big family. It’s really important to have a bond with the players because obviously that helps us on the pitch as well. We just can’t wait to get started now.”
