Manchester United have won the Premier League Summer Series, but the performance against Everton was far from perfect.
Ruben Amorim’s preparations for the new Premier League season were going perfectly as Manchester United’s tour of the United States brought progress – and results.
United beat West Ham United 2-1 last weekend before Amorim’s side hammered Bournemouth in midweek.
The Premier League Summer Series came to an end on Sunday night, with United drawing 2-2 against Everton.
Bruno Fernandes fired United ahead from the penalty spot before Iliman Ndiaye hauled Everton level.
Substitute Mason Mount bagged a sumptuous strike to put United 2-1 up, only for a bizarre own goal to hand Everton a draw.

Bruno Fernandes slams Manchester United display
United started brightly and we saw some quick attacking play between Bruno, Amad, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
It’s one thing to look bright on the ball and attempt to make things happen in the final third, but players must also put the work in off the ball.

Captain Bruno certainly wasn’t happy, telling NBC Sports (04/08, 12am UK) that he felt United were ‘lazy’ off the ball.
Bruno noted that laziness can be punished very quickly and United ‘have to avoid that’ moving forward.
The trip to the United States was ‘positive’ in Bruno’s eyes, pointing to the team bonding and the preparations for the new season, but that laziness
“It was positive, obviously it was positive to be together, to create a bond between the players, to get to the way we want to play, to involve the new ones and everything,” said Bruno.
“Obviously, we didn’t want to finish in this way. I think our performance wasn’t the best. Off the ball, I think we were a little bit lazy today.
“We have to avoid that, because the laziness… you can pay at any moment and by one mistake from me, you end up at 2-2,” he added.
Manchester United head home for one last friendly
United’s Premier League opener against Arsenal is looming large and is now less than two weeks away.
Amorim’s squad will now head back to Manchester, but there is one more friendly to play before the Arsenal clash.
United welcome Fiorentina to Old Trafford next week and will look for a strong home performance to end pre-season.
David De Gea is set to face United in that game, with the Spaniard poised for an emotional return to Old Trafford.
Amorim and Bruno will be keen to see this ‘laziness’ eradicated ahead of that game, and it may well become a focus in training before facing Fiorentina.
