Leeds United are in the market for a striker, and Daniel Farke has made it clear that they need a new number 9 in the team before the end of the transfer window. The club have been looking at several options before a concrete move is made for a certain target.
Former Wolfsburg striker Lukas Nmecha joined the club early in the window when he was snapped up on a free transfer. However, he has been the only attacking addition thus far, and given his injury record, the forward can’t be trusted to be the starting number 9 for a season at Elland Road.

Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz is the top target for Leeds, but the Brazilian has other suitors as well. Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Tottenham are also interested in him, and the Cottagers remain in talks to offer him a new contract.
Everton’s Beto has also been on their radar, and Leeds are also considering a move for Rennes’ Arnaud Kalimuendo. The Whites have had contact to register their interest in Roma striker Artem Dovbyk as well.

Leeds United learn a new knockdown asking price for Artem Dovbyk
Dovbyk scored 12 times in Serie A last season, but Roma are open to selling the forward in the ongoing summer transfer window.
With Evan Ferguson in the building this summer, the Serie A giants are keen to move Dovbyk on after just one season at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma are expecting offers from the Premier League, and were said to be holding out for a fee of around £35m this summer before sanctioning his sale.
However, according to Italian daily Il Messaggero, the asking price has been slashed massively to try and ensure his sale in the ongoing transfer window.
It has been claimed that Roma are now prepared to accept somewhere around £22m to offload Dovbyk this summer.
It’d ensure a small profit on the books for Roma and move on a player who is not part of new manager Gian Piero Gasperini’s plans.
Dovbyk is good value for money for Leeds at that price
Leeds are among the Premier League clubs who are interested in Dovbyk, but Roma’s initial asking price was going to be a problem.
The Whites would have been reluctant to spend around £35m on a striker who turned 28 this summer, and the club have been looking at young strikers.
However, if the Ukrainian is available for around £22m, Leeds should be all over him as that would represent good value for money.
The Roma striker suits Daniel Farke’s needs and has scored 42 goals over the last two seasons for Girona and Roma, respectively. At that price, the move becomes a no-brainer for the Yorkshire giants.
