"He’s too good of a player": Newcastle told to sign£140k/week Liverpool star

Liverpool are struggling to sell Darwin Nunez but they’ve been urged to convince Newcastle United to take him on board thi summer.

The Reds saw Napoli pull out of talks for Nunez in July but the striker is reportedly in contact with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal and talks are set to resume this week to explore the possibility of a permanent deal.

Meanwhile, another report suggests the forward has accepted that he will need to leave Europe in order to facilitate a transfer this summer but Don Hutchison believes he’d be a good fit for Newcastle.

Hutchison, who supports Newcastle and played for Liverpool in the 90s, argues that St. James’ Park would be the perfect place for Nunez to get back to his best.

Could Newcastle United be the perfect and most convenient club for Liverpool to sell Darwin Nunez to?

Speaking on ESPN FC’s YouTube channel, Hutchison suggested that the Magpies make a move for Nunez this summer as their frustrating striker saga continues.

“He’ll come good, just some players you go to the likes of Real Madrid’s, Barcelona’s, Man United’s, Liverpool’s, sometimes the shirt can weigh heavy,” Hutchison said.

“You can be a really, really good player and it just doesn’t happen. I think he’s the type of guy that might go to a Napoli or Atletico Madrid, or he might go to Newcastle, and he’ll come good because he’s emotional.

“I can see him coming good somewhere because he’s too good of a player, but not in the way the season panned out last season, he didn’t get much game time, he lost his confidence,” adds the former Scotland midfielder.

“But honestly, genuinely, I think there’s a player in there and I would take him at Newcastle for sure, definitely, and hope and pray that Eddie Howe can get the best out of him.”

Darwin Nunez would be a good signing for Newcastle but they won’t pay Liverpool’s asking price

I actually agree that Nunez would be a good signing for Newcastle but only if they sign Benjamin Sesko. On his own, I don’t think the 26-year-old is good enough to lead the line for a Premier League side with high ambition.

Whether or not you believe Newcastle are actually capable of challening for silverware, it’s clear the PIF-backed club are working tirelessly to emerge as one of the biggest and best clubs in England.

Nunez, however good he is at chance creation, isn’t a clinical striker.

Going from Isak to Nunez is as bad as it is exciting for Liverpool fans to imagine going from Nunez to Isak.

Personally, I don’t think there is any serious interest in Nunez from the Magpies.
