Leeds United given huge Manor Solomon transfer hint after Thomas Frank verdict

Leeds United were given a huge boost by Thomas Frank with the Spurs boss not mentioning Manor Solomon when discussing possible replacements for the departing Son Heung-min.

The Israeli international spent last season on loan at the Whites and it was a successful stint for Solomon, as he helped the club secure automatic promotion while finishing the campaign with 10 goals and 13 assists.

The Whites made no secret of their interest in securing Solomon’s talents this summer, but the 26-year-old made his decision clear early - he wanted to prove himself at Tottenham.

His position within the Spurs team hasn’t been made clear this summer, with Frank arriving as the club's new manager. The Danish manager wanted to take a look at Solomon this summer, though his latest call may hint that his mind is already made up regarding Solomon’s future.

Spurs legend Son Heung-min announced earlier this week that he would be leaving Tottenham after 10 seasons with the club. With his departure now imminent, Frank has outlined the players who could step up in his place, with a glaring omission.

"First and foremost, when a great player is leaving a team, other players have a chance to shine," Frank told football.london earlier this week. "Brennan Johnson is a player who could play on the left.

"Also, I think that Wilson Odobert did well against Arsenal and can play on the left, and also, Mathys Tel is a flexible player. I think we have some young, promising players that hopefully can step up and take over from Sonny in the future.”

The Israeli would be a like-for-like replacement for Son though the Spurs boss namedropped other Spurs' stars, like Tel being “flexible.”

After a successful season in the Championship, Solomon is not expected to be content with a spot outside of Tottenham’s first team. If the 26-year-old is seeking regular football, Leeds will want to be at the front of the queue for his signature.

The North London-based side are reportedly looking for a fee in the region of £20m.
