West Ham’s new arrival looks to have caught the eye of onlookers already.

Graham Potter is looking to beef up his squad ahead of his first full season in charge in East London and looks to have already made a particularly fantastic addition to his side.

The new signing impressed in West Ham’s pre-season fixture against Bournemouth and looks set to hit the ground running in the Premier League.

Jeff Stelling certainly liked what he saw from West Ham’s new £19million man, who could turn out to be a key player for the Hammers next season.

Stelling impressed by what he’s seen from Diouf so far

El Hadji Malick Diouf’s qualities were on full display in his performance against the Cherries, delivering two fantastic crosses that any forward would dream of receiving in a game.

Callum Wilson will likely be looking forward to playing with Diouf now after seeing the quality that he produces, with Diouf potentially being the man to help Wilson reignite his old form.

Speaking on talkSPORT (4 August), Stelling had this to say about Diouf: “I thought West Ham were pretty decent, especially their new wing-back.

“He produced a fantastic assist for Bowen’s goal.”

Alongside Wilson, Niclas Fullkrug could also be in line to benefit from Diouf’s arrival, with the German striker also profiting due to Diouf’s quality ball in, which was eventually prodded home by Fullkrug from close range.

Plenty of reasons to get excited for West Ham supporters

With Wilson’s arrival, Fullkrug seemingly finding his shooting boots, and Diouf showcasing his immense talent, the Hammers could be in line for a much-improved Premier League campaign in comparison to last season.

The E20 outfit limped to a 14th-place finish last term, but with Lucas Paqueta potentially being back to his best too after the weight of the betting charges was recently taken off the Brazilian’s shoulders, they could be set to fly up the league under Potter.

West Ham are also continuing to be active in the transfer market, recently bidding £9.5million for Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor.

Victor would represent another essential signing for Potter, who will eventually be hoping to be the man to bring European football back to East London.

To do this, more quality additions like Victor and Diouf will be needed.
