David Datro Fofana is one of many forgotten men at Chelsea, with the striker having not played a game for their first team since 2023.
Chelsea signed Fofana from Molde in the January transfer window of that year, but he has only gone on to make three appearances for them.
Fofana spent the first half of last season out on loan at Turkish side Goztepe; however, the 22-year-old was recalled after picking up a knee injury and missed the second half of the campaign.
His current employers have reinforced their attack this summer. Chelsea have signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro to bolster their striker options.

Enzo Maresca decides David Datro Fofana can leave
Fofana was not part of Enzo Maresca‘s plans last term, and that is not going to change following the arrivals of Delap and Pedro.
According to TEAMtalk, the Chelsea manager is open to selling the Ivorian during this transfer window, which is hardly a surprise given the options that he already has.
As well as Delap and Pedro, Maresca still has Nicolas Jackson, though he could leave before the market shuts in September.
It has been claimed that Aston Villa could make a move for Jackson if Ollie Watkins is sold. Watkins has been linked with Manchester United and Newcastle United, who are both on the hunt for a new centre-forward.

Where David Datro Fofana is attracting interest from
TEAMtalk’s report claims that Fofana has multiple suitors from France and Italy, countries that he is yet to play in.
The Ivory Coast international does have some experience playing in the Bundesliga, though, after a short loan spell at Union Berlin. However, it was not a spell that went well. He scored just one league goal before being recalled by Chelsea midway through the season.

After all of the signings that Chelsea have made in his position, you would expect Fofana’s next move to be a permanent one.
