Everton are one of the clubs in the picture to sign AS Saint-Étienne’s Zuriko Davitashvili.
The winger joined the French club from Bordeaux last summer and finished his debut season with nine goals and eight assists from 34 games.
Saint-Étienne have been relegated from Ligue 1 and Everton and a few other clubs want to offer him an escape route this summer.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who report Everton, Stade Rennais, Strasbourg, Sevilla and Borussia Mönchengladbach all have the 24-year-old on their target list.
The Goergia international’s contract expires in 2029, with an option for another year. The Ligue 2 club are said to be determined to retain him, and his contract situation will clearly favour them.
Saint-Étienne aren’t willing to listen to any offers, but the player is ‘determined to leave’ in this window. He wants a new challenge, which David Moyes’ side, or other interested parties can offer.
Due to the French club’s stance, Davitashvili didn’t feature in the friendlies against Paris FC and Cagliari. Foot Mercato say this is a clear sign he wants to force a move this summer.
There’s tension between the two parties and the current situation favours Everton and other suitors.
