Leicester City boss Marti Cifuentes has provided an update on James Justin after he missed the Foxes’ 2-0 win against Fiorentina.
Cifuentes has a bloated squad and wants to get rid of some of the high earners so that he can bring in his own players.
Key assets like Mads Hermansen are wanted by Premier League clubs too and Justin is also wanted by Leeds United and Everton.
The full-back was an ever-present and to see that he wasn’t in the squad had people wondering if a move was edging closer.

Marti Cifuentes explains why James Justin didn’t play for Leicester
Justin wasn’t the only player missing as Victor Kristiansen and Ricardo Pereira were also absent from the team.
Danish media have hinted that Kristiansen could leave but Cifuentes revealed that all three were suffering from injuries.
He said: “Unfortunately, JJ [Justin] and Ricardo have picked up small muscular injuries.
“We are testing them to see how long they will be out for, hopefully not much. Unfortunately with Kristiansen, he had a collision in training and was injured.
“Hopefully we will know more about the severity of the injury in the next couple of days but he might be out for a period of time.”
Who else could leave Leicester City this summer?
While Cifuentes is keen to keep the likes of Patson Daka, there are still a number of players who could be heading for the exit door.
Ben Jacobs reported that Besiktas had a bid accepted for Wilfred Ndidi and the midfielder appears to be heading for the exit door after not featuring.

Leeds also like Bilal El Khannouss in addition to Justin and then there’s the likes of Wout Faes who the Foxes will hope to get off their books.
Nine players are out of contract in 2026 and huge changes could take place at the King Power Stadium.
