Tottenham Hotspur have considered a move for Barcelona’s Marc Casadó this summer, according to Sport.
The defensive midfielder made his senior debut in March 2024 and played 2,447 minutes from 36 games last season.
Chelsea and Atlético Madrid have already shown interest and Tottenham are said to have explored a move for the 21-year-old.
Sport reports Tottenham approached the La Liga winners about the Spain international.
His contract expires in 2028 and he’s unlikely to have a major role at Barcelona this season. It’s claimed Hanis Flick isn’t counting on Casadó as he has several other options in midfield.
Barcelona are ready to open the exit door in this window if the player is willing to leave and they receive a tempting offer. The newspaper says he is currently valued at €30m.
Tottenham contacted the Spanish champions to explore the possibility of signing Casadó, but he isn’t keen on leaving the Camp Nou.
This resulted in Spurs shifting their focus to João Palhinha, who arrived on loan with an option to buy from Bayern Munich on Sunday.
Barcelona believe players reluctant to leave could change their stance towards the end of the window. If that were to happen with Casadó, Tottenham may not return for him.
