Manchester United are ready to meet the release clause to sign Brazilian goalkeeper John Victor from Botafogo.
United step up interest in Botafogo keeper John Victor
Manchester Utd are seriously eyeing Botafogo’s John Victor this summer window.
Meanwhile, Andre Onana’s fitness is under the scanner. The club has no solid backup currently. So, United are quietly working behind the scenes to strengthen the position.
Victor has emerged as one of the top choices after a great season in Brazil. He played 34 times and gained attention after a top game against PSG in the CWC. Man Utd scouts have followed him closely ever since.
West Ham have already made an €8m move for the Brazilian. But, sources suggest United are ready to match his release clause if they decide to act. The Red Devils haven’t placed an official bid yet. But, they remain heavily involved in talks and are monitoring developments carefully.

Strong competition could delay Red Devils decision
Manchester United aren’t alone in this race. PL rivals **Everton**have already started talks with Victor’s agents. The Toffees are eager to add experience to their goalkeeping unit. At the same time, Turkish side Galatasaray will also keep John Victor in their sights.
Tottenham, PSG and Atletico Madrid are all keeping eyes on him. They will be waiting for their chance if other options fall through. Even Manchester City, who are primarily focused on Ederson, have flagged Victor in reserve.
The interest in the Botafogo man is increasing and there is now competition as well. That said, Man Utd have to move fast or risk losing the player.
This summer, United have to make good moves keeping in mind their finances. So, bringing in the experience of Victor in goal could be a smart move. All eyes now rest on whether United push forward before someone else beats them to the punch.
