Leeds United remain in the market for a number of other players before the transfer deadline, including an attacking midfielder.
Daniel Farke and the 49ers have signed seven players this summer, with LOSC Lille left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson one of the additions at Leeds United.
Gudmundsson was Leeds’ fourth summer signing, and the Swedish left-back has had a huge wage increase after joining the club.
Leeds beat Fenerbahce to Gudmundsson’s signature and the 26-year-old is the only specialist left-back at the club. That said, Gudmundsson is versatile in how he can be utilised.

Gudmundsson was excellent against Villarreal, with Leeds fans hoping Gudmundsson is an upgrade on Junior Firpo at left-back in the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Pontus Jansson helped convince Gudmundsson of Leeds in the end, and perhaps the same could transpire with Leeds and another rumoured target.
That’s because Gudmundsson is a former Lille player and Leeds have been linked to another Lillois footballer. Yusuf Yazici of Olympiakos has been linked to Leeds as well, having played 135 times for Lille.
The report claims Yazici could now leave Olympiacos after just one season with a return to one of the top-five leagues in Europe on the cards. They say that Leeds and an unnamed French club want to sign Yazici.

The attacking midfielder is both a playmaker and goalscorer, with Yazici able to contribute in a variety of different ways to an attack.
With 29 goals and 15 assists, the 28-year-old would add another layer to Leeds’ attack, given that they have just Brenden Aaronson as a more attack-minded midfielder in their ranks.
The links have gone quiet of late, but Gudmundsson is a former teammate of Yazici and the pair have been interacting on social media, which could be construed as a cryptic message regarding a potential transfer.
Gudmundsson posted a handshake emoji on his Instagram story, with the pair reminiscing about a goal they were once involved in together.

Leeds target Yusuf Yazici’s career stats
When the Turkish attacker joined the Greek giants, it was seen as a real coup for them. But after just 20 minutes in his first outing, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, and his season was done.
In terms of talent and his technical level, Yazici looks like the sort of player Leeds would consider. They need a few different types of attacker, and a natural playmaker ought to be one of those.
Team Appearances Goals Assists
Trabzonspor 120 27 22
Lille 135 29 15
CSKA Moscow 12 8 2
Olympiakos 1 0 0
Turkey 45 3 7
Even as a rotational player, Yazici would offer something different to Leeds in games where a lock picker is required to break teams down, given the output he has had in his career.
