Everton submit offer for 23-year-old – Toffees need to hit €20m to seal deal

Spanish newspaper [Marca](https://www.marca.com/futbol/almeria/2025/08/04/almeria-rechaza-dos-ofertas-lopy.html) are reporting on Monday that Everton have made an offer for Dion Lopy, but the Premier League club haven’t yet put forward enough to convince Almeria to sell.

The 23-year-old is a defensive midfielder and played 36 matches in La Liga 2 last season, with the club finishing in 6th position. He’s represented by the Stellar agency, who have numerous players in the Premier League, including Everton’s Jordan Pickford.

Ligue 1 club Nice are also said to have made an offer, but Marca don’t have the figures relating to either bid. Regardless, neither offer was enough for Almeria, with both the English and French attempts knocked back.

Almeria are said to be holding out for €20m, and Marca say they’ve got that figure from sources at the club. There’s every chance the amount could be reached with the help of bonuses.

[Diario de Almeria](https://www.diariodealmeria.es/ud-almeria/almeria-rechaza-propuestas-dion-lopy_0_2004519750.html) report previous windows have seen €15m offers from Eintracht Frankfurt and Freiburg, whilst there’s also been Barcelona links. There was also a claim of Real Betis offering €6.5m, something which fits in with the Seville club’s approach to undervaluing players.
