TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Sunderland and Leeds United have been offered the chance to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic.
30-year-old Aleksandar Mitrovic is currently playing his football for Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, where he has a pretty remarkable record.
The Serbia international has scored 68 goals in 79 games for the Saudi club, who he joined from Fulham in a reported £50m move in 2023.
Back in England, Mitrovic also had a very impressive record, a striker who might still have unfinished business in the Premier League.
Competition Games Goals Assists
Premier League 129 38 11
Championship 126 85 16
Saudi Pro League 51 47 8
Mitrovic’s record across different competitions.
And owing to Sunderland and Leeds’ desire to bring in a new striker before the season starts, both clubs have been contacted in regard to a potential deal.
Exclusive: Sunderland and Leeds offered chance to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Mitrovic has been offered to a number of clubs in England via his intermediaries.
Mitrovic loves England and he’s facing a somewhat uncertain future at Al-Hilal, who want to sign a new striker.

It’s far from a given that Mitrovic leaves at this point, but if the Saudi club spends big on a striker, then the situation could change quickly.
Of course, TBR Football recently revealed that Darwin Nunez has agreed to head to the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Hilal being one of the clubs interested in a deal.
As a result, Mitrovic’s camp have offered the striker to multiple Premier League clubs, including his former side Fulham.
In addition, Sunderland and Leeds have been offered the former Newcastle talisman, who might receive a mixed reception at the Stadium of Light, should any deal progress.
Mitrovic has also been discussed by West Ham United, but the east Londoners have now signed Callum Wilson.
Mitrovic could leave Al-Hilal on loan this summer
If the situation prevails where Mitrovic is keen to leave Al-Hilal in the coming weeks, the striker’s camp believe that a loan deal to England could be feasible.
As it stands, it is only intermediaries doing their work in England, but it’s understood that there is interest from the Premier League, should Al-Hilal be willing to do a deal.
And perhaps Pep Guardiola’s words about Mitrovic in 2022 underline why English sides would be keen to bring the striker back.
Speaking ahead of facing Mitrovic with Manchester City, Guardiola warned his players about just how effective the Serbian number nine can be.
He said: “If we let them play a long ball to Mitrovic then you lose, he’s a competitor and he pulls defenders to their limits.
“He’s clinical. There was a lot of talk about him only being a Championship goal scorer, yet here we are and he’s doing it in the Premier League.”
And perhaps that could still be a reality in England again.
