West Ham United can confirm that Academy defender **Kaelan Casey** has joined Swansea City on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old heads to the Championship to gain valuable first-team experience having travelled with the West Ham first team to Germany and the United States where he started in the Hammer’s 2-1 win over AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League Summer Series.
Casey, who has been with the Academy since the age of five, made his senior debut for the Hammers in a 3-0 UEFA Europa Conference League victory over FCSB. That same season, he helped the U18s secure a historic double, winning both the U18 Premier League South and the FA Youth Cup, winning all of the 17 games he featured in. During that run, Casey scored four goals from centre-back, including one in the 5-1 FA Youth Cup final win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Since then, he has made his Premier League debut, coming on in the final-day 3-1 win against Luton Town in May 2024, earned eight caps for England’s Elite Squad (U20s), and transitioned full-time into the first-team set up. Last season, Casey was named on the bench eight times in the Premier League while also captaining the U21s in both Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy.
Everyone at West Ham United wishes Kaelan the very best for his loan spell and looks forward to monitoring his continued development with Swansea City.
