Everton are aiming to sign a new central midfielder before the season starts, and have now made a bid for Chelsea ace Kieran Dewsbury-Hall.

David Moyes has faced frustration in the transfer window so far, with several targets rejecting moves, and his side is light in central areas.

Everton let Abdoulaye Doucoure go at the end of last season, but are yet to replace him with a box-to-box central midfielder, but they may have now found an attainable target.

Chelsea are set to let a number of players leave this summer, and Everton have now made an offer for one of their transfer-listed players in Dewsbury-Hall.

Everton make Dewsbury-Hall bid

Everton have now made an official offer for Dewsbury-Hall, who has attracted interest from a number of Premier League sides despite hardly featuring for Chelsea.

The 26-year-old previously excelled with Leicester City before following Enzo Maresca to Chelsea, but was well down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Dewsbury-Hall excelled with Leicester in the Premier League and Championship before departing last year.

The midfielder has hardly featured at Chelsea, with the likes of Moises Caicedo ahead of him in the pecking order.

With the midfielder aiming to move this summer, Fabrizio Romano has now reported via X (4 August) that Everton have made an offer for Dewsbury-Hall, with discussions ongoing as Chelsea are open to his exit.

This bid is a permanent one rather than a loan deal, and it could signal that Moyes is finally set to get his wish after weeks of frustration.

Moyes wants new midfielder at Everton

Everton have been linked with several central midfielders, including Juventus outcast Douglas Luiz, but finances and player preferences have prevented Moyes from strengthening in this department.

Moyes has repeatedly stated that he wants more incomings in the coming weeks, with his threadbare squad left short for pre-season, and his side did not win a single friendly match.

Even beyond Dewsbury-Hall, Everton need at least one wide attacker and a new fullback at the very minimum, but the Englishman will solve a big issue in central midfield if he is to join.

Dewsbury-Hall can offer creativity in central areas, as well as fitting into a three-man midfield, and this could see him line up alongside James Garner and Idrissa Gana Gueye in the middle of the park.
