Daniel Levy is confident that Thomas Frank could lead Tottenham Hotspur to Premier League glory
Tottenham Hotspur appointed Thomas Frank at the helm, with the Dane head coach taking over the reins at N17 from Ange Postecoglou despite the latter winning the Europa League in his final game in charge at Hotspur Way. It was not about the European championship, though; it was about the fact that the Lilywhites struggled in the Premier League along the season, which eventually caught up to him.
While there were many eyebrows raised initially when the decision-makers at Hotspur Way decided to show the Australian the doors, now Daniel Levy has been speaking candidly about appointing Thomas Frank at the helm. He went on to speak about the vision that the club has strategically and the nuanced understanding of what the Lilywhites need to become competitive again. The 63-year-old went on to suggest that Frank is ideal for the club’s objectives and bringing them to fruition.
Daniel Levy speaks on appointing Thomas Frank at N17
Daniel Levy is confident that Thomas Frank could lead Tottenham Hotspur to Premier League glory.
Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is convinced that Thomas Frank is the right man for Spurs.
Given that Levy has been emphasising the Dane’s communication skills and his intelligence, it shows a few of the conditions that the North Londoners were looking at in the incoming head coach. But it also emphasises how much both of those are quite important to bring a sense of clarity in the dressing room and make sure that tactically everyone is rowing the same way.
He also went on to speak out about this developmental reputation that Thomas Frank has garnered during his time at Brentford, given how the Lilywhites have been pushing to make a culture of developing talents within the corridors at Hotspur Way.
Speaking with Gary Neville on The Overlap, Levy said:
“I think Thomas is a highly intelligent individual. I think he’s got a fantastic way about him in terms of communication.
“I think he will be great at developing both young players and older players and making them better. he gets the style of football we want to play.
“he understands that, you know, Rome wasn’t built IN A DAY. We we haven’t said to him, you’ve got to win the league this year.
“all we know is when does he have to win it? As soon as possible, but no pressure. Um look, we just want to compete at the highest level.”
At the moment it does look like Daniel Levy’s vision is clear as he looks to push Tottenham towards the peaks of the Premier League table, and he (along with the decision makers at Tottenham) expressively thinks that Thomas Frank is the man with the capabilities to put the North Londoners back on the map. So Thomas Frank’s era at Tottenham looks full of excitement as the Dane head coach looks to meet these ambitions with his structural playing structure, which would be highly appreciated among the Lilywhites fans after that haphazard playing style under the former Celtic coach.
