Benjamin Šeško has found himself in the middle of transfer drama this summer, having been linked with an RB Leipzig exit for months. Arsenal were thought to be interested but as endless claims stated the Gunners were moving for the Slovenian, it was insisted in Portugal that Viktor Gyökeres was the actual target and that turned out to be correct.
Then it was the turn of Newcastle United to move forward and, typically for the Magpies this summer, they haven’t had a clear route to a deal. Manchester United are said to be keen and various claims in Germany have talked up offers from both clubs.
German newspaper Bild now brings the latest on the Šeško situation after a meeting was held on Sunday evening. That meeting was with the player’s agent Elvis Basanovic, after RB Leipzig knocked back Newcastle United’s €75m plus €5m offer and demanded €80m guaranteed for the 22-year-old.
The report then states: ‘The crucial question is: What does the Slovenian want? According to Bild information, he has told both clubs that he only wants to join them.’
Both Newcastle United and Manchester United are said to be putting the pressure on, not wanting this situation to drag on longer than it needs to.
