Manchester United have reportedly decided to slash their asking price for Alejandro Garnacho after Ruben Amorim confirmed the winger wanted to leave the club.
Garnacho has been expected to leave the club since the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham in May. After starting the game on the bench, the winger was told by Amorim he could leave just three days later.
Interest has been high in signing the forward but no formal bid has been made yet. Chelsea are interested in Garnacho with Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Aston Villa all previously showing interest.
Last week, Amorim revealed that the 21-year-old wanted to leave the club. Speaking during his sit-down interview with journalists in the United States, he said: "I think Garnacho, you can understand and you can see, he's talented, he's a really talented boy. And sometimes things don't work out. You cannot explain specifically what it is.
"But I have the feeling, I think it's clear that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership. And I can understand that. So I think it's not a problem.
"Sometimes you adapt to one guy, you have the connection. Other times, you want a new challenge. So, we try to make everything okay to all the parts. To the club, to the coach and to the players. So, it's a natural thing in football."
Now, Caught Offside have reported that United's stance on Garnacho has changed in a bid to get a deal finalised. The outlet has reported how the initial €80million (£69.6m) valuation has now dropped to around €50m-€60m (£43.5m-£52.2m).
Interestingly, the story also states how United 'remain firm' that no deal will be approved for Garnacho until a new striker is signed. Benjamin Sesko is the priority at Old Trafford at the moment but the Reds aren't thought to be close to an agreement.
