Man Utd have completed their US pre-season tour, and here is how it affected the first-team squad.

Manchester United will only play one more friendly match before they begin the new Premier League season with a tricky home test against Arsenal. Ruben Amorim needs to see plenty of improvement from his players in the first weeks of the campaign as they face Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea within their opening five matches.

United are unbeaten across their summer schedule so far, having drawn with Leeds in Stockholm before they won the Premier League Summer Series thanks to victories over West Ham and Bournemouth and a draw with Everton. Amorim will have learned a lot about his side during the last few weeks and has a selection headache ahead of the new season.

There were several impressive performances during their recent tour of the US, and plenty of others who struggled to make a positive impact. Here is a look at the winners and losers from the pre-season schedule so far.

Manchester United winners and losers from US Tour

Leny Yoro - Winner

Yoro was one of only three players to start every match of the US Tour. He is a certain starter heading into the new Premier League season and could become one of the most important players at the club.

Altay Bayindir - Loser

Bayindir had a chance to prove his worth in the absence of Andre Onana, but struggled in both matches he started. If anything, he should be third in the pecking order behind the more experienced Tom Heaton.

Bruno Fernandes - Winner

United spent £127 million on two new attacking midfield signings, but Fernandes is still the best they've got. His pre-season performances were a reminder of his immense talent and leadership, plus further evidence of why it was so important to keep him this summer.

Diogo Dalot - Loser

Dalot underwhelmed in the pre-season matches and looks to have lost his starting role at wing-back to Amad. He is still trusted by Amorim and named in the leadership group, but might not get as many opportunities as he'd like next season.

Patrick Dorgu - Winner

Dorgu was the standout star of the US matches and showcased exactly why United moved for him in the January transfer window. It was never fair to judge him as part of a dysfunctional side last season, and he looks so much better after a full pre-season schedule under his new head coach.

Rasmus Hojlund - Loser

Hojlund tried his best in the summer friendlies, but it was not enough to change Amorim's mind. United want to sign a striker in the final month of the window and are prepared to take a loss on the Danish striker to facilitate a move. Hojlund wants to stay at the club, but it might be in everyone's best interest if he decides to leave.

Mason Mount - Winner

Mount took his chance against Everton and sent a timely reminder of the untapped talent he has to offer. He might struggle to start matches, but he has Amorim's trust and will get plenty of opportunities from the bench if he manages to stay fit.

Toby Collyer - Loser

Collyer didn't start any of the US Tour matches and will be allowed to leave the club on loan in the final month of the window. At a time when United need another midfielder, it seems a shame he wasn't given the chance to prove his worth.
