Burnley a little scared off as owner sets asking price – Trying to fight interest away

According to a claim in the Croation media Burnley are showing interest in HNK Rijeka midfielder Niko Janković.

The Premier League side have been busy in this summer’s transfer window as they look to consolidate their place in the top-flight.

[24sata](https://www.24sata.hr/) today report on Burnley’s pursuit for the attacking midfielder and say the East Lancashire side are a number of clubs showing interest in the player.

However, it’s claimed HNK Rijeka will not let the youngster leave on the cheap, with claims their owner Damir Mišković wants in the region of €10m. This figure is seen as high and the intention is to chase interest away.

Subsequently, this has resulted in Burnley cooling their interest in Janković, along with Dynamo Kiev and Werder Bremen. It’s also reported the 23-year-old is happy at the Croatian club and if he doesn’t get a transfer in this window then he will sign a new contract.

Janković started 34 league games for HNK Rijeka last season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. He’s contracted to the club until June 2026 and has represented his country at youth levels.
