Manchester United will reportedly look to beat Everton and West Ham United to 29-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper John Victor in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Caught Offside, John Victor is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are ready to trigger the release clause in the Botafogo goalkeeper’s exit clause in the summer transfer window. However, the struggling Premier League giants face stiff competition from Everton and West Ham United for the 29-year-old Brazilian’s signature.
John Victor and his meteoric rise
John Victor has established himself as one of the most accomplished goalkeepers in his homeland since joining Botafogo from Santos in January 2024. The 29-year-old was instrumental in Estrela Solitária’s title-winning campaign last season, and his stock has soared after his exploits during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign.
The Brazilian goalkeeper has turned out 85 times thus far for Botafogo while conceding 69 goals and keeping 36 clean sheets. Meanwhile, John’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Premier League outfits, in particular, are keen on signing him, with Everton, Manchester United, and West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

The South American goalkeeper has been on Manchester United’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, considering Altay Bayindir faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford.
