Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim identified where the Red Devils showed serious signs of “struggle” against Premier League club Everton on Sunday evening.
The Red Devils played their third and final Premier League Summer Series contest in the United States on the weekend, with Manchester United travelling to Georgia.
United and Everton met at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and the Red Devils were held to a 2-2 draw against their fellow Premier League side.
Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring for United from the spot-kick before Iliman Ndiaye cancelled out the Red Devils skipper’s strike with an important equaliser.
Mason Mount climbed off the bench in the second half and the United No 7 broke the deadlock on Sunday, but Everton would snatch a crucial equaliser minutes later.
Amad Diallo’s clearance bounced off defender Ayden Heaven amid a frantic scramble and the ball landed in the back of Altay Bayindir’s United net in the 75th minute.

Ruben Amorim spotted what went wrong for Man Utd in the Premier League Summer Series match vs Everton
Manchester United’s 2-2 draw against Everton meant that the Red Devils came out as the winners of the Premier League Summer Series after their three-match run.
The Red Devils finished top of the Premier League Summer Series after two wins and a draw, with second-place West Ham one point behind Ruben Amorim’s men.
Speaking after Sunday’s encounter at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, United manager Amorim believes that the Red Devils showed their major weakness in two key areas.
The 40-year-old former Sporting CP head coach felt that United “struggled” to cope with both the “long balls” and the “second balls” that Everton played against them.
“I think we struggled today a little bit,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“So, it’s just that, the feeling of not performing like we’re supposed to do, but it was okay.
“I think it has to do with the long balls and then second balls, but sometimes even with different players, you struggle.
“You see all the games from Everton, even different midfielders suffer with this kind of game.
“They break the team with two centre backs changing possession and then they kick the ball and then the second ball.
“We struggle a little bit with that, not just the second balls, but the first balls. We struggle in the build-up, but we create chances and that is really important to win any match.”

Amorim remains firm that the Red Devils could still have defeated Everton if they did “create chances,” despite the struggles with both the long balls and second balls.
“You can perform, I don’t like to say bad, but we can struggle a little bit in the game, but if you create chances, you can win even that kind of game,” he continued.
Amorim added: “If you play well, they will say that we play really well, something on the opposite side.
“It’s the same thing, so we need to be really consistent. We already knew that we had two weeks, this will not change in two weeks, but we are better.”
United’s final match of their pre-season tour under Amorim will be played back at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils hosting Serie A side Fiorentina on 9th August.
