Manchester United are expecting a decision from Benjamin Sesko this week, with the players set to return to training at Carrington on Wednesday (August 6).
United are currently flying back from the US tour after completing their final fixture against Everton.
Work is ongoing to add to the squad and add further signings. The club are hoping to sign Benjamin Sesko to add to Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
United are battling Newcastle for the Slovenian striker’s signature, amid claims from Germany that Sesko sees the Red Devils as first choice – but wants to be convinced United can fund the deal.

Along with Newcastle, Manchester United hope to have clarity on the move for the Slovenian striker as soon as possible and believe an answer will come this week.
Both clubs are currently waiting on responses from the striker over his future, and United In Focus understands the expectation is that the decision will come this week.
This coming weekend is the final one before the Premier League 2025/26 season kicks off, and neither club want this situation to drag on.
Transfer insider Graeme Bailey explains: “United are yet to make a bid officially for Sesko but that isn’t really the issue here – it is where the player wants to go.

“Sesko and his camp have listened to United and Newcastle, as we have reported, and one of the biggest decisions of the transfer window is due to be made.
“No player has been more embroiled in this window, firstly with Arsenal and now with United and Newcastle.
“From their talks United were confident, but I am told logistically the fact United might not be able to do a deal too quickly could have an impact.
“United need sales to do more in this window, that is not a secret and could that impact on Sesko – we are about to find out.”
Benjamin Sesko would be costly investment
Benjamin Sesko would cost in the £70 million range, a substantial investment for Manchester United to make.
Sesko is 22-years-old and arrives with more experience than Rasmus Hojlund had when he signed, the Dane was 20 at the time and had never played in the Champions League.
The young forward has been linked to United in the past and this summer feels like ‘now or never’.
Newcastle are making a serious push for his signature amid Alexander Isak’s desire to leave the club, but they have already had a bid rejected by Leipzig.
