In a market where many of Europe's top teams are searching for new forwards, Mason Greenwood offers a good option to teams desperate for attacking reinforcements.

The former Manchester United star joined Marseille last summer for £26.5million after the club decided to sell him. The 23-year-old scored 22 goals and provided another six assists in 36 games to help Les Pocheens record a second-placed finish.

His first season in France has resulted in interest elsewhere with Saudi Pro League sides considering moves. Now, reports in Italy have claimed that Inter Milan have added Greenwood to their shortlist amid uncertainty over their move for Ademola Lookman.

The Champions League finalists have agreed personal terms with the former Leicester City man, who has put in a transfer request, but they are yet to come to an agreement with Atalanta after their £39.1m bid was turned down.

Corriere dello Sport have reported that Greenwood is being considered as an alternative. Should the forward be on the move this summer, United will be keeping a watchful eye on the price tag.

Any sort of profit made on Greenwood by Marseille will see United receive a hefty fee as a result of a 50% sell-on clause included in the deal 12 months ago. Previously, French outlet L'Equipe revealed that a 'source close' to the situation claimed: "Basically, if OM sells him for €50m (£43.2m), they will have brought for him for €50m (£43.2m) and will have recovered €25m (£21.6m).

"Given his performances, the strong interest shown by Saudi clubs this summer, and his age, it's a safe bet that Greenwood will leave for a hefty sum."

Greenwood's market value is at its highest since leaving United, largely down to his debut season in France. Before moving to Ligue 1, his value sat at just £20m but that has increased to £34.6m - more than what United got for him. If he was to move on for that fee, United would receive a further £15m windfall.

CIES Football Observatory values Greenwood slightly higher. Their highest estimated price for the 23-year-old is currently €57m (£49.3m) with their lowest being €49m (£42.3m), fees that would only work in United's favour.
