Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo has told the Ecuadorian media he’d like to play in his home country in the future.
The 23-year-old joined Chelsea for a Premier League record transfer fee in 2023 and has become a key player for the west London club.
El Universo have covered comments made by the Ecuador international to Radio Ritmo 98.5, and he spent part of the chat discussing his future plans in the game.
Caicedo explained that a youngster he always had affection for L.D.U. Quito and if the possibility of playing for them presents itself then it’s something he’d been keen on.
“If the opportunity arises in the future, I would like to be at La Liga. I’ve always liked them since I was a child,” said the Chelsea man.
The central midfielder started his career at Independiente del Valle, but spent just two seasons with the Quito side before his transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion in 2021.
During his time at Brighton, he started to make a name for himself and after 45 Premier league games with the Seagulls he got his big move to Chelsea.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, Caicedo has gone on to make nearly 100 appearances for the Blues and was important in his side winning the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.
