Chelsea are ready to cash in on 22-year-old forward David Datro Fofana, with the striker no longer in Enzo Maresca’s plans.
According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea could consider offers coming in for David Datro Fofana this summer. There are talks underway with a few suitors, with the club’s valuation of the striker still unclear, although he is expected to leave the club for certain.
David Datro Fofana arrived at Chelsea from Molde in January 2023, and he has been shipped out on loan a few times since. The young striker has not made the necessary impact many expected him to, but the Blues have largely benefited from the loan fees acquired with his loan spells away from the club.
However, Enzo Maresca and the club are planning some changes to their existing squad, especially on the attacking side. There have been a raft of new arrivals, such as Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens to strengthen the frontline.
Chelsea are also angling for moves for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho as things stand, with a host of players expected to make way to free up space. Noni Madueke has already joined Arsenal, while Nicolas Jackson can depart too, with the striker keen to stay in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Fofana is also expected to depart, with Chelsea ready to sell the 22-year-old attacker for the right price. He was on loan with Turkish side Goztepe, but a serious knee injury back in February curtailed his season there. However, the Ivorian striker has returned fit and back in training for Chelsea, although his future is farther away from Stamford Bridge.
David Datro Fofana to leave Chelsea
There are already suitors from France and Italy for the striker, while Chelsea might also anticipate interest from England. However, any deal for the 22-year-old attacker is expected to transpire in the latter stages of the window, as interested parties will want a full report on his fitness levels after the knee injury.
Chelsea’s asking price remains unclear at this point, although they are expected to make a slight profit on their investment once the players depart. It could be a culmination of the previous loan fees received for David Datro Fofana, as well as what his next club would pay as transfer fees.
