NBA Insider Gives Worrisome Update About Sixers Stars

The Philadelphia 76ers desperately want to forget last season and move forward in the year ahead.

But that may be easier said than done, especially with concerning news coming out from inside the team.

According to Brett Siegel, via APHoops, talk around the NBA is that the status of Joel Embiid’s knee is “bad.”

On top of that, Paul George is expected to miss the start of the 76ers’ training camp.

The hits just keep on coming for the Sixers.

Next season was supposed to be a turning point for the 76ers, but fans have heard that so many times before.

Last year, Embiid only played in 19 games, averaging 23.8 points and 8.2 rebounds during that time.

He was never 100 percent healthy and was struggling to stay on the court after his time in the Paris Olympics.

But it’s not the Olympics that hurt Embiid, because he has been attempting to recover from knee problems for years.

It seems that nothing is getting the job done completely, and these issues continue to flare up.

Now the big fear is that his knee remains problematic and he might not be able to play to his true abilities in 2025-26.

Plus, George will miss at least the start of training camp, meaning Philadelphia’s two biggest stars are once again their largest question marks.

What will the 76ers do if both Embiid and George remain hurt?

They owe both of them a ton of money and have very limited options.

At the same time, the team cannot function like this forever, and they may have to address these injuries in a big way soon.

If Embiid isn’t getting better, the front office will have to ask some tough questions and make even tougher choices.
