Everton drew 2-2 with Manchester United in the final game of their pre-season tour in the USA, and the match was not short of controversy.

Iliman Ndiaye scored the first goal and created the second, in a much-improved performance from the Toffees after their defeat to West Ham.

The winger was involved in another incident aside from the goals, as the Everton star clashed with a Man United player in a heated confrontation.

Man United manager Ruben Amorim will not have been impressed with both players, and could now speak to the Red Devils star about the incident.

Amorim to warn Bruno Fernandes after Everton clash

The incident began when Ndiaye burst through on the ball, but United captain Bruno Fernandes flew in studs up from behind, in a reckless challenge.

Both players clashed with each other, with Ndiaye shoving Fernandes following the tackle, and other United stars came flying in to join the mayhem.

Everton’s second goal came immediately after the clash between the two players.

Moyes’ side battled to a 2-2 draw after going behind twice.

The pair both received yellow cards, but with new Premier League rules coming into play, former FIFA referee Keith Hackett has told Goodison News that Amorim will need to have words with his captain.

“This season the Premier League have introduced a ‘captains only’ rule to speak to the match referee,” Hackett explained.

“Bruno Fernandes’ petulant action on many occasions and visual dissent will certainly focus on his behaviour and approach to the game.

“His manager needs to offer him some operational advice, otherwise he will pick up yellow cards like confetti.

“Here in this incident, we see an overreaction that sparks dissent and trouble.

“The referee, rightly I would suggest, on advice from his fourth official, issued both players with yellow cards.”

Ndiaye now a key player for Everton

Aside from the incident with Fernandes, Ndiaye put in another terrific performance for Everton, and is now becoming decisive in front of goal.

His strike was a terrific finish, after an excellent cross from Idrissa Gana Gueye, and with Moyes struggling to fill his squad with other attackers, he is now taking the goalscoring responsibility for his side.

The 25-year-old joined last year from Sheffield United, and is primed to have his best season yet in English football.
