Leeds United reignite move for 100-goal striker – Daniel Farke’s top target

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has made it clear that he needs a striker before the end of the transfer window on September 1st. The German insisted that his squad can’t be Premier League-ready if they do not strengthen their forward line in the next few weeks.

The Whites spent the early part of the transfer window on deepening and strengthening their defensive and midfield resources, and also signed a top goalkeeper in Lucas Perri from Lyon. However, Lukas Nmecha was the only attacking addition, and even he joined on a free transfer this summer.

Leeds have turned their focus towards adding players for the final third of the pitch, and efforts are in place to try and convince Leicester City attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss to move to Elland Road despite interest from Tottenham and Sunderland.

The Whites also want to be patient when it comes to signing the right striker, and the club have been tracking several options, both in the Premier League and Europe, before deciding on their final target.

Leeds United reignite chase for Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic

Nikola Krstovic has been on Leeds United’s radar all summer, but the forward was not receptive to a move to Elland Road earlier in the transfer window.

After a decent last season at Lecce, the forward has been expecting to attract offers from some of the bigger clubs in Italy, and has been linked with a move to Napoli and Roma.

However, Napoli’s interest in him has faded, and Roma withdrew their interest in the striker after signing Evan Ferguson on loan this summer.

It emerged Leeds remain interested in the striker recently, and according to journalist Sebastien Vidal, the club are back in the mix for the striker.

The Yorkshire giants are again pushing to convince the forward to move to Elland Road, and are pressing hard to get a deal over the line.

It has been claimed that Farke remains a big admirer of Krstovic, and he is one striker who is at the top of the German’s wish list this summer.

Lecce want a fee in the region of £21m to £25m before agreeing to sell the striker this summer.

The Krstovic links have never gone away

Leeds would prefer to sign a Premier League-proven striker such as Muniz or Everton’s Beto, but the club are also considering options in Europe.

There is no smoke without fire, and Krstovic has been linked with a move to Leeds since the start of the transfer window.

He might have preferred to stay in Italy, but with time running out, the striker could finally be considering leaving Serie A in the coming weeks.

Leeds seem to be keen on acquiring him, and it seems this is one deal that could happen after a summer of constant rumours.
