Chelsea, Everton'reach agreement'over Dewsbury-Hall transfer, fee revealed

Chelsea have reportedly agreed to sell midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Everton.

Last summer, the Blues signed the Englishman from Leicester City in a deal said to be in the region of £30m.

Although the 26-year-old never became a first-choice pick at Stamford Bridge, he still made 19 starts and 17 substitute outings in all competitions.

However, despite playing his part in the Conference League and Club World Cup successes, it has become apparent that Dewsbury-Hall will continue to struggle for game time in 2025-26.

Dario Essugo, Andrey Santos and Joao Pedro being integrated into Enzo Maresca's squad would have pushed him considerably down the pecking order had he chosen to fight for his place.

Everton make Dewsbury-Hall breakthrough

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Dewsbury-Hall is happy to depart the West Londoners in order to make the switch to Everton.

The report says that the player has already agreed personal terms on the back of the respective clubs settling on a fee.

Everton will allegedly pay a fixed fee of £25m with add-ons taking the deal up to somewhere between £28m and £29m.

As a result, Chelsea are essentially getting their money back for a player who only made two starts and 11 substitute outings in the 2024-25 Premier League.

From the perspective of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations and UEFA's financial rules, it is a major boost as they look to comply with both.

In order to be able to register their new additions in next season's Champions League, Chelsea must generate more money through player sales than they have spent.

Reports also emerged on Monday claiming that Lesley Ugochukwu will soon be signing for another Premier League club.

Key addition for Everton

Meanwhile, Everton officials have started to deliver for David Moyes, who has publicly expressed his desire to add another six players to his squad on top of the deals that have already been negotiated.

Centre-midfield is an area of concern with Idrissa Gueye, James Garner, Carlos Alcaraz and Tim Iroegbunam the current options.

Dewsbury-Hall will be expected to become an immediate first-choice pick in Moyes' engine room, whether that is as a number eight or number 10.
