**With all of the talk around Benjamin Sesko and Alexander Isak it's easy to forget that Newcastle United are still waiting for Brentford to give the green light to Yoane Wissa to move to the North East.**
The DR Congo forward left Brentford's training camp in Portugal last month to return to London for discussions about his future with Brentford's director of football, Newcastle fan Phil Giles.
Wissa was told last summer that if an acceptable bid came in this summer, he'd be allowed to leave, and he feels the club isn't honouring that agreement.
As things stand, Wissa is training away from the group at Brentford, mirroring the situation with Isak at Newcastle.
Keith Andrews seems pretty calm about the Yoane Wissa situation
---------------------------------------------------------------
It's expected that Brentford will let Wissa leave when they have a replacement lined up, but for now, Keith Andrews has responded to the situation, insisting he's sympathetic to Wissa's situation [as reported by Sky Sports.](https://www.skysports.com/football/video/12606/13405962/brentford-head-coach-keith-andrews-reacts-to-yoane-wissas-transfer-dilemma)
> “The situation is he’s training at the training ground but I think it’s probably public knowledge at this stage that he left that training camp in Lisbon. It was probably the right decision for all parties in that we had to support him in what is a difficult time for him.“We need to remember that it’s not just about the footballer, it’s about the human being and the person first. Again, public knowledge that there is some interest in Wissa so we have to respect that, respect him.“I’ve got a really good relationship with Yoane from last season and that is still the case now but obviously, it’s not ideal. \[There is\] constant communication with Yoane around the situation.

> “We always treat people with respect and again, when you look at the business we’ve done this season with the outgoings, it’s been done early. This is probably not wanted. It’s not an ideal scenario but what transfer window is.”
Things are starting to move into place
--------------------------------------
In a YouTube video posted earlier today, Craig Hope has spoken about what he understands is the plan for Newcastle when it comes to strikers, insisting that the club will not go for Wissa and Ollie Watkins, as the plan is to land one senior striker and one younger. So if Wissa falls through, then they may move for Watkins, but it will only be one or the other, not both.
Newcastle are still pushing for Benjamin Sesko, and as we've said before, we can see how bringing in Wissa and Sesko would be ideal this summer with one proven Premier League player and a younger, more raw talent to nurture who still has Champions League experience.
It's all a waiting game right now, however, as everything needs to fall into place, but hopefully it's all coming to a conclusion sooner rather than later.
